OUR MISSION: TO PROTECT URBAN WATERWAYS IN SOUTH AUSTIN
Protecting our planet can start in your own backyard!
Founded in 2021, South Austin Creek Alliance focuses on the protection and preservation of urban waterways and their surrounding ecosystems. Focusing on the creeks and tributaries south of the Highway 71/290 corridor, SACA has led numerous successful creek clean-ups in south Austin. Our goal is to build a community of people, including business and local governments, to protect and preserve these vital resources.

Board Member Spotlight:
A big warm, welcome to new Board Member, Rachelle Bryant! We're so happy to bring Rachelle on board with SACA! It was a match made in, well, under a bridge during a creek clean-up. Rachelle has taken part in a lot of SACA clean-ups and we're absolutely over the moon she decided to share her skills and passion to further SACA's mission.
Rachelle's early awareness of environmental fragility was sparked by her mother's challenge to "Imagine a world where every person littered one piece of trash every day." This ignited Rachelle's passion for preserving the natural beauty of our environment. Her love for the outdoors and commitment to her community led her to find the South Austin Creek Alliance. She's eager to contribute to protecting the urban waterways in South Austin and educating her neighbors about the beautiful greenspaces in their backyards.
