TO PROTECT URBAN WATERWAYS IN SOUTH AUSTIN
OUR MISSION
GET INVOLVED
Protecting the planet starts in your backyard.
Since 2021, SACA has dedicated itself to protecting the creeks south of the Highway 71/290 corridor. Through creek clean-ups, education, and community partnerships, we unite residents, businesses, and local government to safeguard these vital ecosystems.
As Austin grows, our green spaces shrink. These corridors are the city's best defense against the Urban Heat Island effect and are vital for local wildlife. However, rapid development is degrading the waterways that nourish them. SACA exists to reverse this trend. We protect South Austin's aquatic ecosystems—from flowing tributaries to essential dry creek beds—through advocacy, public education, and direct community action.
